Most software today asks you to upload your data somewhere else in order to use it. We think that trade is worse than it looks — and usually unnecessary.
Our applications and packages run on a server you own: a computer you already have, a Raspberry Pi, or a machine on your own local network. The mobile and desktop apps connect to it. Nothing goes to a third party, because there is no third party.
Your data comes back to you. It stays on hardware you control. Nothing is uploaded anywhere to make the software work.
Nothing that can become a subscription. Beyond open-source languages and packages, we avoid any dependency that could later turn into a recurring charge for you.
You can install it yourself. Setting up the server should be simple enough to do without us. Where it isn't yet, that's a bug in our documentation.
Offline is the normal case. Not a degraded mode to fall back to when the connection drops.
Our flagship. The server the rest of this rests on. Keep your photos, videos and documents on a machine you own, with search, versioning and duplicate detection — and machine learning that runs on your own hardware rather than someone else's: image similarity, face detection, semantic search over your own library.
